Fine antique Royal Vienna porcelain covered potpourri urn, dating to the late 19th century, beautifully decorated in a rich royal purple lustre ground with exceptionally well-preserved original gilding throughout. The body is finely hand-painted with classical mythological figures in continuous landscape reserves, one panel signed Wagner, a name associated with quality Vienna porcelain decoration.

The elegant form is raised on three shaped supports with gilt paw feet and finely modeled lion-head masks at the upper joins. The removable domed cover with gilt finial includes a pierced inner section, indicating original use as a potpourri or perfume urn for scented flowers or fragrance.

Further enriched with raised gilt scrollwork, floral garlands, beaded borders, and starburst decoration to the base, giving the piece a luxurious and highly decorative presentation.

Marked underside with underglaze blue Royal Vienna shield mark, hand-numbered 448, and inscribed “Hector,” likely referring to the classical painted subject.
