Beautiful, possibly the first half of 19th-century English School Oil on Canvas Painting.
The painting depicts the Venus and Cupid playing with the birds.
The painting illegibly signed lower right.
The reverse of canvas stamped Geo Rowney & Co. with two addresses. Those two addresses existed up to 1859, after the company moved to a different location. The company was the artist's material supplier and print publishers established in 18C ( 1783 ).
Size: 18" x 12" ( 46 x 30,5 cm ) canvas, 23" x 17" ( 58,5 x 43 cm ) frame.
Mounted in giltwood frame.
Condition: very good for the age, very fine craquelure.
