Fine Russian Gardner porcelain figure depicting a coachman (yamshchik) standing in a characteristic forward-leaning pose with hands behind his back, conveying a naturalistic and expressive moment typical of 19th-century genre sculpture. The figure is dressed in traditional attire, including a long coat and hat, and rendered in matte polychrome enamels characteristic of the Verbilki factory.
The underside bears a red Gardner factory stamp featuring the Imperial double-headed eagle, as well as an additional impressed factory mark in the paste.
