Beautiful 19th-century Russian Orthodox Icon of "The Sign" Mother of God ( Znamenie ) . The icon in repousse silver oklad with very large gilt silver halo with the crown on Mother of God and smaller on the Christ. Hallmarked at oklad and halo for St. Petersburg, 84, makers initials А.И, date 1844, assayer mark for Dmitri Tverskoy.
