Exceptional Imperial Russian Silver-Gilt & Gold Mounted Cigarette Case with Gemstones

A striking and highly unusual 19th century Imperial Russian silver and gold mounted cigarette case. Hallmarked: Moscow, 84 silver standards with kokoshnik mark and assayer's mark, maker’s mark “ПА” (in Cyrillic), assayer’s mark.

The case is richly decorated with substantial gold applications, including sculptural monograms and gold borders framing the composition. One side features a central cartouche accented with three gemstones - diamond, ruby, and sapphire.

The reverse displays a finely executed relief of a female profile, adding depth and artistic character. Extensive facsimile inscriptions with engraved names strongly suggest a custom-made presentation piece.

A rare and visually compelling example combining silver, heavy gold applications, gemstones, and personalized decoration.
