A stylized animal head appears in the upper right, surrounded by fragmented architectural and landscape elements characteristic of the artist’s symbolic visual language.
Gleb Bogomolov was one of the leading figures of Leningrad and St. Petersburg unofficial art and an important representative of the Russian nonconformist movement beginning in the 1970s.
Signed “Глеб” and dated “87” lower right.
A Simon Sherman, New York, dealer’s stamp appears on the frame backing.
Presented under glass in a black frame with a wide mat.
