Large 19C German Repousse Silver Box

A fine antique German Rococo sterling silver jewelry or trinket box with a hinged lid. The lid is decorated with a nicely detailed courting scene, the sides have intricate repousse embellishments depicting playful cherubs, beautiful floral and Rococo shell motifs, musical instruments and more.

Goldwash interior.

Circa 1850-1899. Hallmarked on the bottom with an 800 silver standard and other German hallmarks.
