Striking pair of Russian sterling silver goblets designed by renowned artist Mikhail Chemiakin (b. 1943), from his celebrated “St. Petersburg” series. Circa 1990s.
Each goblet is executed in a sculptural and theatrical form, featuring whimsical jester heads with elongated noses and articulated cap elements, above richly decorated bodies with geometric and heraldic motifs. The design reflects Chemiakin’s distinctive avant-garde style, inspired by the historic imagery and spirit of St. Petersburg.
Marked “Chemiakin Design .925” and Sterling, foundry mark.
