A rare and highly distinctive Imperial Russian “Samorodok” (nugget-style) cigarette case, dating to the early 20th century, executed in silver with applied gold elements.
The surface features a richly textured naturalistic “nugget” finish, giving the piece a bold and organic appearance. The front is accented with multi-colored gemstones set in gold mounts, while the push-button clasp is mounted in gold and set with a sapphire, adding a refined focal point.
The interior retains its original gold wash finish and is further enhanced with applied gold facsimile inscriptions, including multiple names and signatures, reinforcing its presentation character. A charming, applied gold elephant detail adds an unusual and collectible touch.
A rare and visually striking example combining sculptural surface, gold-mounted elements, gemstones, and personalized decoration — highly desirable as a collector’s piece.
