A powerful late work by Vladimir Nemukhin, a central figure of the Soviet nonconformist movement, a leading member of the Lianozovo group, and a participant in the landmark 1974 “Bulldozer Exhibition.” Widely regarded as one of the key artists of the Second Russian Avant-Garde, Nemukhin played a defining role in shaping unofficial art in the USSR.

“Probability” (Veroyatnost) 1995 exemplifies the artist’s mature conceptual language, where geometric abstraction intersects with philosophical inquiry. The composition structured through circles, linear elements, and spatial divisions explores themes of chance, order, and systemic logic, recurring motifs in Nemukhin’s oeuvre. The refined palette and measured balance convey both intellectual rigor and visual harmony, characteristic of his late period.
